Voyara ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Voyara mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account information: When you sign in via Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from the authentication provider.
Trip data: Destinations, itineraries, activities, and preferences you create or save in the app.
Location data: With your permission, we access your device's location to show nearby attractions. We do not store your precise location on our servers.
Usage data: Anonymous analytics about how you use the app (screens visited, features used) to help us improve the product.
Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for debugging and support purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and personalise the Voyara service
To generate AI-powered travel itineraries using your destination and preference inputs
To sync your trips across devices via our secure cloud backend
To send transactional communications (e.g. account confirmation)
To improve the app through anonymous usage analytics
To respond to your support requests

3. AI & Third-Party Services

Voyara uses third-party AI services (Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude) to generate trip itineraries. Your destination and travel preferences are sent to these services to produce results. We do not send your name, email, or account details to AI providers.

We also use the following third-party services:

Supabase — secure cloud database and authentication
Google Maps / OpenStreetMap — mapping and location search
Wikipedia REST API — destination images

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and trip data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at support@getvoyara.org or using the "Delete Account" option in the app.

6. Children's Privacy

Voyara is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to or restrict certain processing
Data portability

8. Changes to This Policy
